Please pass on my sincere thanks to the team of staff and volunteers responsible for the fabulous Food Angels service.

 

My mother-in-law has reached the stage in life where she is still able to enjoy independent living, but struggles with some everyday tasks. One of these tasks is preparing a nutritious hot meal. As the summer ended and the cold days started to bite, I was concerned that living off cup-a-soup as a hot meal alternative wouldn't be suitable, so I contacted the Food Angels team.

 

I was provided with some useful information about the service and also a set of menu choices for the coming weeks. I was impressed at the variety of meals available and so was Mum. She soon chose her first meals to try out and her selection was collected from the house by a 'lovely' member of the team.

 

The first meal arrived, delivered by a friendly volunteer, and was greatly enjoyed, as was the next and the next. I'm pleased to say that she is now receiving 3 hot meals a week, sometimes including pudding too, and finds every one of them enjoyable.

 

So, thanks again for the great service. Having experienced a couple of alternative provisions that haven't been satisfactory, I'm delighted that she is not only receiving nutritious and tasty meals, but is also under the caring eye of the volunteers who deliver them to her.
